Programme notes
Beiyi State launches a surprise attack on Baicheng, a strategically important town in the northern part of the Great Qi State. General Tang Yao leads his men to desperately resist the attackers, but they’re outnumbered and all get killed. Only Tang Yao’s second daughter Tang Ying survives. What makes Tang Ying more grieved and angered is that his father’s death for the state is paid by being accused of collaborating with the enemy. To clear her father’s name, Tang Ying goes to the capital and finds that things are not as simple as she thought. Yuan Lang is the Great Qi State’s second prince who has been taken as a hostage for a dozen of years. Does he have any connection with Beiyi? Why is there a woman who looks just like Tang Ying and pretends to be her? Who is the outlander mentioned by Yao Niang? And what about those weird yet familiar memories?... There are so many mysteries for Tang Ying to solve.
