DAN DA DAN is a supernatural action-comedy anime based on Yukinobu Tatsu’s hit manga, blending ghosts, aliens, and teenage romance. When high schooler Momo, who comes from a family of spirit mediums and scoffs at aliens, meets occult-obsessed Okarun, who believes in extraterrestrials, their rivalry leads them to confront real paranormal threats. Momo awakens her spiritual powers, while Okarun gains a cursed ability, forcing them to team up against yokai, UFOs, and otherworldly chaos. The series shines through its leads: pragmatic Momo, eccentric Okarun, and their endearing bond. With vibrant supporting characters and jaw-dropping creature designs and animation, the story balances humor, heart, and high-stakes battles. Produced by Science SARU and directed by Fuga Yamashiro, DAN DA DAN debuted its 12-episode first season on October 4, 2024, featuring creature designs by Yoshimichi Kameda and a kinetic score by Kensuke Ushio.
